Recipe: Cleansing Carrot Salad

Cleansing Carrot Salad for Clear Skin Detox Liver

Did you ever want to know what foods to eat for clear skin? Or what foods can make your skin look naturally fresh and flawless?

As someone who struggled with dry eczema skin, I eventually began to notice that my overall skin looked and felt a lot better, around the times when I was eating healthier. Does this sound like you too?

As a certified nutritionist, my food criteria is also very high — I wanted to find foods that were wholesome and healing to my gut for someone like me with dry eczema skin, AND I also wanted to be sure that these foods would be super easy to find.

Something as simple as grated carrot with MCT oil (or melted coconut oil but MCT oil is easier to use!), sea salt and apple cider vinegar can produce major changes in bowel health, reducing endotoxin absorption, and restoring constructive hormonal functions.

The reasons it works comes back to the natural anti-bacterial properties of raw carrot. In order to not be eaten by microbes in the ground while carrots are growing, they produce natural chemical substances that keep pests and other organisms from eating them. This chemical is still active in raw carrot and is what kills off pathogens and endotoxins in the intestines and detoxifies the liver when you consume it.

I recommend having this at least once a day, especially if you have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), unwanted body fat or other gut imbalances that affect your skin health.

You can substitute the Bulletproof XCT or Brain Octane Oil with a high-quality extra-virgin cold-pressed olive oil.

Version I

  • 1 large, peeled or shredded Carrot
