Officially launched in 2021, our highest calling is to build a West African inspired sustainable lifestyle brand that transcends mediocrity. To create the highest-quality most exquisite most impeccable products, services, and treatments that are effective, indulgent, and a divine experience on skin, hair, body, and for the home.
Inspired by centuries old family-owned ancestral recipes painstakingly recorded from our ancestors for use by aristocratic families dating back to 1611, everything you see, feel, touch and experience comes directly from our lineage to you, to our customers.
Since launching the business, we’ve been showered with abundance and to drive our voice of higher truth in beauty and wellness, we need help.
That’s why we are now looking for an additional member to join our team and support its founder.

We opened our first retail boutique and soon-to-be facial spa located on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile at 520 N Michigan Avenue.
The KOKOBÉRNA Aesthetician is an experienced, dynamic individual who possesses a real passion for healthy, glowing skin and takes pride in delivering world-class therapeutic hydrating facial treatments using our handcrafted organic products.
We sell premium products of the highest quality; therefore, our customers deserve a premium and loving experience. Our responsibility, and challenge as we grow the brand, is to make sure every person we interact with experiences this and feels our total commitment to their overall well-being. Your job is to make sure every customer feels understood, appreciated, and loved. You are their hero, and our hero, you are the face and voice of our beautiful business.
More specifically, here are some (but certainly not all) of the responsibilities for this role:
Customer Service
You will solve any issues that arise for customers.
You will manage customer inquiries in our central inbox.
You will ensure every customer feels heard by getting them a quick response to any questions they have.
You will pick up the phone or jump on a scheduled Zoom consult and talk to customers.
You will listen to them and let them know you care. You will laugh with them. You will cry with them. They will love you, and you them.
You will work closely with the founder and, as the team grows, keep the rest of the team informed about the general mood and feedback from customers.
Customer Experience
You will constantly be asking yourself, “how can we make this better for our customers?”
You will make recommendations for ways to improve the customer experience, and you will implement many of them.
Aesthetician Tasks
Analyze, consult, and perform 25-, 50-, and 70-minute corrective facial skincare services in a comfortable setting and in a professional manner
Uphold the fundamentals of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and spa protocols
Perform prep work and meticulously clean and restock the facial spa as required
Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of both the spa and the boutique
Properly care for all equipment, maintain outstanding store condition, and visual merchandizing standards by supporting daily cleaning as well as maintaining testers throughout the store
Understand ingredients and their efficacy as well as keeping up with industry knowledge
Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training customers in these areas
Communicate to management all occurrences involving staff or customers that require attention
Actively promote the spa treatments and retail, as well as home care activations
Independently drive outreach with customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Associates Degree or High School Diploma
Valid Illinois Esthetics State License
2+ years working as an Aesthetician
Dually licensed in Massage or Master Reiki Certificate is a plus
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit or stand for up to 10 hours
Must be able to kneel, bend, crouch as required
Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
Must be able to pull, lift, carry at least 20 pounds
Work in an aromatherapeutic retail environment
Use hands, fingers, and arms to administrate facial treatments
Fast -paced movements are required to go from spa area to boutique

Questionnaire and Skills Test. To help us both determine if we’re the right fit for each other, we created a list of questions which we will send via email. Each answer should only be a few sentences at most. No essays needed. Just short and concise. If applying on Indeed, you will be required to complete the Skills Tests and preliminary Phone Interview Screen for this position.
Application Review. We’ll review your questionnaire, skills, phone call screen, and resume. Expect us to follow up with you in less than five business days if all of the above criteria are met.
Meet & Greet Call. We will schedule a brief 15-minute interview on Zoom or a 45-minute in-person interview.
Project Review. We may choose to assign you a specific face treatment that will help us understand your work product within your area of hire or ask you to review a brief scenario and provide written feedback.
References and Certificates: Be ready to provide electronic copies of your resume; applicable certificates, transcripts and state license exam results for new graduates, or CE courses already taken or plan to take; and two professional references.
