Body-Mind Energy in Balance and Harmony

FAQs

Reiki is traditional energy medicine and a healing method that promotes balance, personal growth, and quality of life.

Healing means bringing the mind, body, energy, and environment back into a state of balance and harmony, restoring the body's natural rhythm and equilibrium. A state of balance and harmony is what allows the body to heal itself.

The practice of Reiki helps the body/mind integration. Through a deep relaxation process, the practice brings peace, clarity, strength, and vitality. It nurtures our hearts by creating a deep sense of connection and harmony with ourselves, life, and the world around us. The system of Reiki does not involve any physical manipulation or the ingestion or application of any substances. The practice empowers us by reminding us of our essence, our inner light that is our authentic nature. It clears and frees our minds, leading us to be more deeply in touch with our full potential as human beings, and to live a more authentic, compassionate, and meaningful life.

The more we practice Reiki, the more we feel naturally connected with ourselves,  others, and the world, the easier we flow with life, living mindfully in balance and harmony.

From that state of balance, we can also better support the healing of others and of the world around us.

Reiki is essentially a way of being.

The FDA has not approved Reiki treatments for any health condition or medical claim, largely because it is not a drug.

For the same reason they are considered safe, Reiki treatments are not a substitute for medical diagnosis and treatment, and no medical claims are made regarding these treatments.

People with medical conditions must, and should, continue consulting their primary care doctors and healthcare providers.

The hands-on-healing practice of Reiki is often offered as a complementary health approach to Western medicine, Chinese medicine, chiropractic, chemo, counseling, and other treatments.

The National Center of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) has classified Reiki as a "bio-field therapy" based on its positive health effects and its therapeutic uses. More specifically, the practice has been found beneficial at maintaining physiological homeostasis through a subtle vibrational field without physical manipulation or the ingestion or application of any substances.

Introduced in the USA in the early 1900s, the practice of Reiki has now become a common healing modal that is offered in the West to help people feel better.

According to the 2007 National Health Interview Survey, which included a comprehensive survey on the use of complementary health approaches by Americans, more than 1.2 million adults have experienced an energy healing therapy, such as Reiki, in the previous year (NCCAM).

Reiki is presently being offered in over 800 institutions all over the United States in treatments for heartbreak, anxiety, OCD, grief, PMS, migraines, allergies, joint and muscle pain, diabetes, constipation, addiction recovery, insomnia, colds, asthma, heart conditions, and also cancer.

Hospitals such as Nothwestern Medicine Osher Center for Integrative Health, the Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, the Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center, Mass General Brigham, the Mayo Clinic, and John Hopkins Medicine offer Reiki treatments and other energy therapies such as acupuncture to their patients. Reiki is a Japanese word made of two kanji "rei" (spiritual or universal) and "ki" (essence or life energy).

Therefore, Reiki can be translated as "universal essence" or "spiritual energy". It is the power of the universe inherent in all livings things.

Reiki is the essence of everything, a field of subtle vibrational waves (reiha) that pulsate around and within all creations including human beings. It penetrates everyone and every living thing. It is the force that animates us and makes us alive. It is the force that unites us.

Experiencing Reiki is to experience life and our Self at its fullest. As such, Reiki points to our True-Self, our Inner Bright Light.

As of today, science does not yet know the mechanisms of action for Reiki treatment. However, there are theories about Reiki healing techniques. Reiki emanates naturally through the physical body. All living beings have Reiki: animals, plants, humans, and much more.

Experiencing Reiki makes us aware of the web of life that vibrates as a constant flow within us and around us reminding us of our true nature and capacity to heal ourselves from within.

As a hands-on practice, the healing process is naturally stimulated by "laying of hands" on/above the body. Once the body senses the vibrational flow of the Ki energy through the hands, its innate mechanisms to heal itself engage.

A deep cleaning process is then activated that will enhance and restore a free flow of energy according to what is needed. By nature, the body is always trying to create a state of balance, and through this process, comes healing, wellness, and a sense of unity and harmony within ourselves and our life.

The stronger the ki of the practitioner, the deeper the healing.

Level I in the system of Reiki teaches a practitioner how to use Reiki for healing of oneself, and on friends and family only. The focus at this level is largely on the self in a non-professional environment at this stage. For it is the belief, that by the practitioner honoring a daily commitment to self-nurture, to take time to care for themselves, that only then can the practitioner be of value to society as a whole.

Once a practitioner has taken the time to develop energetically and chooses to complete Level II, at that time they may become a certified professional practitioner.

For you, the client, it does not matter whether the practitioner has a Level II or Master teacher certificate (Level III, Shinpiden, Master, or Master/Teacher) as it is the practitioner's energetic experience and professional skills that dictates the quality of the treatment you receive.

On average, our professional Reiki practitioners are certified Levell II or more and are accredited members of recognized organizations. They continuously upgrade their skills to ensure our high quality treatments are inline with current standards.

When you pay for a Reiki treatment you are not paying for the energy but for the practitioner's time, experience, and professionalism.

Many people are surprised to discover that distance healing is just as effective as an in-person hands-on healing.

In fact, distance healing is not so much about distance but rather about becoming more deeply aware that we are all already energetically inter-connected through the web of life.

And yes, recognizing this is not an intellectual exercise, it takes regular practice.

STEPS FOR YOUR SESSION

- Schedule your distance healing session now

- Create an account on our digital health app and log in to your client Portal

- Complete the initial intake forms

- Prepare for your session

WHAT TO EXPECT

The virtual session will be done AUDIO-ONLY. As some of our offerings have transitioned to the digital space, we've noticed that the energy flows much more freely with both our cameras off, perhaps because when you can relax and focus on your own experience, there is much more capacity for healing.

Please Note: You have the option to RECORD your experience at the start of the session. You must click RECORD and record it to your computer/mobile phone that's nearby. Although most of the treatment is done in silence, there will be prompts at the beginning and end of each session.

PREPARATION

- Choose a calm and comfortable space in your home, one where you will feel safe and not be disturbed.

- Choose a piece of soft soothing music to play during your session or not if you prefer to be in silence.

- You may lie down on your bed, on a couch, or sit comfortably on a chair.

- You can wrap yourself up in a warm and soft blanket with pillows around.

- Place your mobile phone or computer close by.

- You may place a glass of water nearby to drink at the end of the session.

POST SESSION CARE

Following the session, a prescription for a Ritual Bath specific to your needs and an offering of action steps will be provided to help you integrate the work.
